Lord, I know it's late in the day, but I offer up Melinda's prayer and agree with her and hundreds of other readers in this petition. I don't want these Monday posts to become hum-drum, Lord. I want this prayer to draw me and others to Your throne. I want to intercede for the defenseless little ones.
Father God, we come in agreement today - many believers, one voice - to stand for life. We stand in conviction today that, as adults, we tend to complicate things to the point of missing them completely. You've stated that You knew us all before any of our days were even written, yet we argue about which month of gestation life actually begins. To a child, a baby is a baby. We teach that child to be kind and not hurt their brother, friend, or pet, yet we adults can't seem to agree if or when it's appropriate to take the life of the unborn. Even as we break it down in this prayer, Father, it seems a ridiculous argument. And, that's the point, isn't it? Once we break it down to black and white and view it the way a child would, the "gray" is removed, and it is altogether clear.
So, we lift up our President, Father, that You would, perhaps through the innocence of his own children, begin to see the issue through a child-like perspective...that by becoming "simple and elemental" again, He would see Your will in the matter and move accordingly.
Believing You will change one heart for many, we pray in the MIGHTY, LIFE-GIVING NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
