Happy Birthday, Jesus. Our house is quiet this morning. Our children are celebrating with their children today and that is the way it should be. We conceive them, birth them, raise them, befriend them, teach & guide them so that they can start that same cycle all over again.
Lord, I pray that they are honoring You today as they gather around their trees and open their gifts. I pray, Lord, that our children and grand children and their grand children to come will love You with all their beings and will honor You with all their lives.
I could receive no greater gift than that.
Today, to honor You, Lord Jesus, I pray these things:
That all the attention we give to the Babe in the manger will lead people to the Christ of Calvary.
That many people will accept you this Holy Season as Savior like the shepherds did.
That many people will worship you this day as Lord and King like the wise men did.
That many of us will cherish you in our hearts like Mary and Joseph did.
That we Christians will lead others to You like the Star of Bethlehem did.
That we Christians will gladly surrender our lives to the Father's plan like you did.
Nothing would make me happier than to grant your requests, Little One. But so many people are unwilling to surrender, and I’m not going to bully My way into their lives, you know.
If only they would let Me into their lives, then every day would be like Christmas Day, wouldn't it?
